ACADEMIC HONESTY

All work completed in this course must be original work developed this semester. Students are expected to adhere to the highest standards of academic honesty. Plagiarism occurs when a student uses or purchases ghostwritten papers. It also occurs when a student utilizes ideas or information obtained from another person without giving credit to that person. If plagiarism or another act of academic dishonesty occurs, it will be dealt with in accordance with the academic misconduct policy as stated in the latest Student Handbook and the Graduate Catalog.






ATTENDANCE & PARTICIPATION

Students are highly encouraged to attend and participate in the six scheduled Wimba Classroom sessions. It is critical that all students attend the final group project presentation session in Wimba Classroom.

EXTRA CREDIT

No extra credit will be given out this course for the term.






LATE WORK

Late submission will be accepted with following conditions:

  • No late submission will be accepted after 7 days from the due date.

  • If a submission is received on the 8th day after the deadline, the professor reserves the right not to accept it. Non-acceptance means zero point for the assignment.

Deductions will be applied to final points earned for late submission. For each day late, the following deduction schedule will be adhered to --

  • A submission worth more than twenty points will earn a point deduction.

  • A submission worth more than ten points but less than twenty points will earn a half point deduction.

  • A submission worth less than ten points will earn a quarter point deduction.

  • Once an online discussion is over, no postings will be allowed.






PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT

Students are expected to behave professionally in communicating, collaborating, and consulting with other students and the professor. Any behavior that is perceived to be disrespectful and unprofessional will be dealt with accordingly based on rules and policies pertaining to appropriate student conduct at this university.






STUDENT EMAIL POLICY

University of West Georgia students are provided a MyUWG email account, which is the official means of communication between the University and student. It is the student’s responsibility to check this email account for important University related information. Once the semester starts, all course-related communication should be sent through the email feature of Courseden.
